Gold Medal Moments
This month, on 08-08-08, the world starts watching gold medal moments. It is exciting to
watch athletes stand on the podium and listen to their national anthem while the flag of
their country is raised. The years of practice, patience and perseverance pays off on the
podium. Disappointing 4th place finishes are forgotten.
We all have gold medal moments that make the 4th place finishes disappear.
Ours may look like this:
Your teenage daughter saying “Dad, you sure hold it all together”
Your son does something very special for you, in front of all of his friends
Someone says “Thank you, the project couldn’t have succeeded without you”
We don’t think of those statements as gold medal moments, they surprise us and make us
feel great. They also come after years of patient practice and perseverance. Some
athletes would give up all the medals and trophies to hear a similar statement.
As we watch the gold medal moments and see the tears and excitement of the people
standing there, picture yourself on the podium. Recognize the gold medal moments in
your life and celebrate them. You have earned it!
If you are feeling discouraged by 4th place finishes, Susan can help you achieve your gold
medal moments.
